New Clothes for SprutCAM The partnership between Sprut Technologies and Tormach has been a real success story. Since we started reselling SprutCAM over 4 years ago, the installed user base has increased significantly in the USA, Canada, and elsewhere. And its not just Tormach owners, either - we've seen machinists programming a variety of different CNC machines choose SprutCAM for its combination of premium features and reasonable price - if they could only find it on buried on our site. That's why we're so excited to unveil a new SprutCAM focused web portal, www.sprutcamamerica.com. This site is designed to serve the rapidly growing North American SprutCAM user community. We'll still be selling the PCNC version of SprutCAM on www.tormach.com, and we'll also continue to add video content there as well; however, SprutCAM America will be a much more dynamic site, with tutorials, content, and tips and tricks that appeal to not only Tormach owners, but CNC machinists in general. [singlepic id=339 w=320 h=240 float=center] One area of particular interest to current SprutCAM users will be the new SprutCAM online support page. Its a simple interface were you can submit questions or support items from your web browser. For prospective customers, its now easy to register and download a free 30-day demo here. And the tutorials can be easily accessed in our new video library. [singlepic id=338 w=320 h=240 float=center] So please poke around the site and see what's there - and send us a note if you've got any feedback on the site or would like to see other SprutCAM related features. And if your a SprutCAM user, please add it to you "Bookmarks" or "Favorites" list on your web browser. Touch up paint for your PCNC - the formula is revealed! Shipping touch-up paint has always been a pain in the rear for us. We can't send it in winter - it freezes. We can't ship it internationally. And it never was a perfect match anyways. We often encouraged owners looking for touch up to take a chip or two to your local paint store to try to color match, but that can be a pain in the neck too. We've heard rumors from a few PCNC owners out there that Tractor Supply had some paint that was a 'real close' match to base color of the mill. Problem is, we don't have a Tractor Supply in town, so it wasn't terribly easy to figure out which paint was the magic formula. Finally, some proof on the Tormach forum on CNCZone:
That's Valspar Tractor and Implement paint. The part number for the Quart is 4432-13 Ford Gray and the spray can is 5339-13 Ford Gray. Thanks to longtime Tormach Owners Scott M. and Mike F. (who I believe was the original discoverer of Tractor Supply Source) for sharing. Here's a link to the original thread, if you haven't already read it.
