Details

At Tormach, we have a long-standing philosophy that we want to provide the most value to our customers. That’s why you have the ability to self-service your machine, you get free technical support for as long as you own your machine, and you can take delivery of a mill, lathe, plasma table, or router via a liftgate truck. Those perks mean that there is some assembly required when you receive your machine.

If you are a larger business, school, or simply do not have the time to commit to assembling your machine and installing accessories (time is money, after all), we offer an assembly service for a reasonable fee. Let us assemble your new machine here at Tormach before we ship it to you. With machine assembly, a Tormach professional installs, aligns and tests the major components of the machine, allowing you to commission the machine quickly at your shop once it arrives.

Machine Assembly FAQ

What is assembled?
When you purchase an assembled machine, the following items are assembled, commissioned, and shipped to you in a single crate:

  • Base Machine
  • Automatic Tool Changer (if purchased)
  • Machine stand
  • Machine enclosure
  • Machine controls
  • Coolant systems
  • Power Draw Bar (if purchased; comes assembled as standard equipment on 770MX/1100MX)
  • 4th Axis driver kit
  • Turret
  • M+ servo upgrade
  • Spindle upgrade kits

What is not assembled?

  • 4th Axis (driver only is installed)
  • RapidTurn
  • Any additional tooling, toolholding, workholding, or other accessories that you have purchased along with your machine.

How do I prepare for delivery?

While our machine assembly service aims to get you up and running as quickly as possible, there are some important considerations when preparing for the delivery of an assembled machine.

  • Forklift: You will need a forklift or another plan to lift the machine off the shipping pallet. Typical pallet jacks or gantries won’t offer the lifting geometry needed to pull an assembled machine from its pallet.

  • Receiving door: Be sure to verify that you have a receiving door large enough to accommodate the crate your machine will be shipped in.

The Tormach Supply Chain team can provide specific information about your machine build. Some typical crate sizes and machine weights are as follows:

  • 770MX Fully Loaded: 78 in. x 65 in. x 81 in. | 2000 lbs.

  • 1100MX Fully Loaded: 92 in. x 73 in. x 89 in. | 2800 lbs.
