Machine Assembly (Additional Cost, Check Box to Quote)
At Tormach, we have a long-standing philosophy that we want to provide the most value to our customers. That’s why you have the ability to self-service, we have free technical support for as long as you own your machine, and you can take delivery of a mill, lathe, plasma table, or router via a liftgate truck. Those perks mean that there is some assembly required when you receive your machine. If you have a stand or enclosure, those will need to be assembled, or if you ordered any accessories, like an ATC, those will need to be installed, once your machine arrives.
If you are a larger business, school, or simply do not have the time to commit to assembling your machine and installing accessories (time is money, after all), we offer an assembly service for a reasonable fee. Let us assemble your new machine here at Tormach, and we will build it and ship it out to you. With machine assembly, a Tormach professional installs, aligns and tests major components to the machine, allowing you to commission the machine quickly at your shop once it arrives. Some of the items we can assemble include:
How much does machine assembly cost?
Typical machine assembly can range from $800 to $2,800. However, pricing depends on the machine you are purchasing and the add-ons you choose for your machine build. Requesting a Machine Assembly Quote is the best way to get accurate pricing.
What is assembled?
When you purchase an assembled machine, the following items are assembled, commissioned, and shipped to you in a single crate:
- Base Machine
- Machine Stand*
- Machine Enclosure & Chip Pan*
- Oiler
- Machine Controls
- Power Draw Bar (if purchased; comes assembled as standard equipment on 770MX/1100MX)
- Automatic Tool Changer (if purchased)
- 4th Axis Driver** (if purchased) Turret (for 8L and 15L lathe machines)
* Machine Stand and Enclosure cannot be pre-assembled for PCNC440 mills.
** While the 4th Axis Driver will be included in the assembly, the 4th Axis itself will be packaged separately to avoid damage that could occur in shipping.
What is not assembled?
- 4th Axis (driver only is installed)
- RapidTurn
- Any additional tooling, toolholding, workholding, or other accessories that you have purchased along with your machine.
How do I prepare for delivery?
While our machine assembly service aims to get you up and running as quickly as possible, there are some important considerations when preparing for the delivery of an assembled machine.
- Forklift: You will need a forklift or another plan to lift the machine off of a pallet. Typical pallet jacks or gantries won’t offer the lifting geometry needed to pull an assembled machine from its pallet.
- Receiving door: Be sure to verify that you have a receiving door large enough to accommodate the crate your machine will be shipped in.
The Tormach Supply Chain team can provide specific information about your machine build. Some typical crate sizes and machine weights are as follows:
- 770MX Fully Loaded: 78 in. x 65 in. x 81 in. | 2000 lbs.
- 1100MX Fully Loaded: 92 in. x 73 in. x 89 in. | 2800 lbs.
