The roots of Tormach are in 3-axis milling machines. In fact our first machine was the PCNC 1100, but over the years we’ve expanded our offerings to include an array of different metal working machines, like the 15L Slant-PRO Lathe, 24R Router, the PSG 612 Grinder, and the recently released, 1300PL Plasma Table.

One thing that we are always focused on here at Tormach is continuous improvement. That’s why the majority of our staff are engineers and machinists, why we make our machines upgradeable, and why we are always looking for new ways to make manufacturing more approachable.

The world of CNC starts with software. Specifically, CNC starts with CAD software to design and develop your part before you ever create toolpaths and make chips. SOLIDWORKS is one of the largest CAD companies out there, and every year they host SOLIDWORKS World, until now. 

April is an exciting time for robotics around the office at Tormach. We're helping the kids competing at FIRST Robotics in Milwaukee and LaCrosse, Wisconsin, as well as the championship event in Detroit.

If you’ve designed something in CAD, you’re probably at least familiar with SOLIDWORKS. We’ve had a long-running partnership with SOLIDWORKS and we’ve connected their newer SOLIDWORKS CAM package to Tormach post-processors with the help of GoEngineer.

Next week is the International Manufacturing Trade Show, IMTS, which is the world's largest manufacturing trade show event. The week starts on Sunday (9/9), when I will be hosting the Manufacturing Entrepreneurship Summit at mHub, which is right down the road from IMTS. Then it's on to IMTS! This show is huge, and the days can be long. There is so much to see that you don't want to miss anything. So, here are some tips on how to survive IMTS 2018!
