Introducing the Tormach PCNC 440
Tormach's latest addition to the PCNC family, the PCNC 440. As we strive to grow Tormach’s culture of enabling ideas, the PCNC 440 was a natural next step.
A CONTROLLER THAT OFFERS USER-FRIENDLY AND INTUITIVE CONVERSATIONAL PROGRAMMING
As the nerve center of Tormach machine tools, PathPilot® runs the show and supports simultaneous motion up to 4 axes. Intuitive and powerful conversational programming is baked right in and lets you create programs at the machine — even if you don’t know G-code or CAM!
PathPilot is the easier-to-learn and easier-to-use CNC controller, and includes features that make life a little easier like free network support and 1,000-block look-ahead. Plus, any feature that’s available in PathPilot is included. We think it’s ridiculous to lock features behind some mystery paywall. This feature alone can add thousands of dollars in value when purchasing a Tormach.
We’re proud to offer PathPilot HUB, a full-featured, web-based version of PathPilot. When you sign up (for free), you have access to PathPilot HUB. It’s perfect for CNC education, taking Tormach for a test drive, or for creating usable G-Code when you’re away from your shop. If your machine has available WiFi, you can even upload that G-Code remotely.

PCNC 440 FAQS
When will additional accessories be available?
Can I customize my package?
To purchase a custom package, use the PCNC 440 “Build Your Own” Package. This package can be modified to meet your specific needs. Items can be added and subtracted from the package, as you see fit.
What control system is used to run the PCNC 440?
The PCNC 440 is controlled by PathPilot™, Tormach’s control system, used on every PCNC mill. PathPilot™ easily interfaces with most popular CAD/CAM systems but includes onboard conversational programming that can create CNC programs at the machine without the need for a CAD/CAM system.
What accessories are compatible with this machine?
Many accessories that are available for our two larger mills (PCNC 1100 & PCNC 770) are compatible with the PCNC 440, as well. Like our other mills, the PCNC 440 utilizes our TTS tooling system. Some exclusions are the larger vises, high speed spindle attachments, current 4th axis tables, tool setter, load meter, automatic oiler, and active/digital probes (probes may be available in the future).
What materials can the PCNC 440 cut?
It can cut aluminum, steel, titanium, as well as plastics, composites, wood, and PCB boards. Anything our other mills can cut.
What are the dimensions/footprint of the PCNC 440?
The PCNC 440 has a footprint of 40” x 32” x 42” (X x Y x Z) – this is not including the stand (full enclosure does not change the footprint).
